One would think the new administration and new crop of world challenges would do a better job of claiming headlines. Instead, writers like Karen cling to the former president’s coattails in a lame attempt to remain relevant. It’s like trying, and failing, to get one more mile out of a trend that died two seasons ago, or like fumbling in the retelling of a joke that was only mildly funny the first time. So, it turns out, Trump is neither crazy nor stupid. Karen’s insistence on giving the man publicity without the man lifting a finger makes him brilliant and Karen the foolish one. Peddle faster. Even Republicans already moved on. The ones still chattering about Trump are the ones who never quite seem to get a spot at the grownup’s table.
