I wonder what it is you set out to accomplish by writing this article. Do you feel better for having gotten this off your chest? Is the community that must have played some role in raising you supposed to shuffle their feet and admit you may have a point? Are your big city neighbors supposed to high five you for, what, showing those small town mice just how much more superior you are?

I’d be willing to bet you could write a sequel to this piece admitting how you don’t feel as though you really belong in the big city either. Your body may have left the small town you hate, but your narrow-minded views still stink of the intellectual trash you think you left behind. At least the bad apples you unfairly generalize are authentic enough to own it. I found it almost comical how you tried to exonerate yourself by creating exceptions for your friends and people you deem worthy of not falling into your negative illustration. My sense is these friends do not actually accept you, any more than the cities you presume to call home.

I’ll take my chances befriending your townspeople. And let’s hope my big city is never your city. There’s too much of a risk you would lower our humanity quotient. And conservatives are supposed to be the uneducated ones looking down on others...
