Excellent article, though I wish you could have led the rally cry with a few specific examples of how to get started. If someone is intimidated by the kitchen, bored, rushed, whatever, it would have been great to get just a few tidbits about how to overcome these mental blocks. Just some friendly critique, but it in no way detracts from what was otherwise a great piece.
