As a conservative, I generally enjoy reading your perspective. This one fell a little flat for me though. I didn’t see the need to weave politics into your arguments, and to suggest FNC, no matter what you might feel about them on a personal level, does not do very well in ratings made me question the rest of the authenticity of your rationale, not because of where you stand against FNC, but rather, because it is factually inaccurate. (I don’t think CNN was attempting to become another FNC. How could it when its attempt at a subscription splattered quite spectacularly?)
The writing this time felt a little scattered, a little too overly colorful for a message that could have been delivered in a cleaner way for all your audience regardless of its ideology.
I’m hopeful though. I think you have it in you to write a second version that properly incorporates your views on society that does not stoop to bashing conservatives for the sheer sport of it and do so in a meaningful way that helps us all become a little more prosperous.
