As a blind individual, I feel as though the only option is to work hard to earn the money I need to sustain the life I want. I can’t bank on someone else hiring me again, diversity policies notwithstanding, but your article taught me something interesting about running toward something as opposed to running from something. Thank you for painting a realistic picture of what life could be like after leaving the golden handcuffs. It’s not all rosy, but it sounds as though you’re much happier for it. And, we are far more competitive than we give ourselves credit.
