A few additions to what is already a phenomenal article:

1. Don't allow yourself to feel as though your problems are less because other people appear to have it worse.

2. In my opinion, don't just quit social media. Consider quitting the Internet for a bit. Instead, turn to your friends and do what you can to rekindle those bonds that do more to soothe your spirit than the competing advice online.

3. Where it makes sense, turn to whatever higher power you respect, and allow yourself to be shepherded by it to a place of peace. Allow yourself to surrender your burdens to it.

4. Remember, things usually have a way of working themselves out. No, not in all aspects of life. We ought not minimize death and sickness, but even the darkest moments tend to be counterbalanced by a few optimistic beams of light.

That last sounds a bit cheesy, doesn't it? But it's heartfelt.

Thank you for writing on the subject in such a vulnerable way. Helping others when we ourselves could use the help is a high level of nobility.

Your faithful readers are rooting for you.
